Békéscsaba

Man my room is super warm. Because it is only a hostel, there aren't any towels or toilet paper or sheets. And I haven't figured out how to get my room any colder. There is always this slightly cold air coming out of the cent, but the room continues to stay almost 80 degrees. I put the thermostat on  5 in Celsius, but now I'm thinking that it might actually be talking about how many showers I need to take each day.

I found the address to church and after some encouragement from my family members, I walked the fifteen minutes to church. I was a little worried for a minute that I wouldn't be able to recognize where it was. I have been to a couple branches that have just been in random buildings- like the one in China.

When I reached the little dot on my map, i started to pick up wifi that my phone recognized and then I looked up and saw this sign. It wasn't the words that I recognized; it was the font it was written in. This really surprised me and then I almost cried because I had found the little branch. They say that the church is the same no matter where you are, but I really think they are talking about the font being the same wherever you go.

After I found the door to actually get in, the missionaries welcomed me with a friendly "see ya" (that's how they say hi). I gave them a smile and said "I'm American." Half of them were relieved. The missionaries were adorable and all spoke English really well, which was quite refreshing.
When I got back from church, ádám, the president of the club, took me to lunch at the csaba center. I had some chicken and veggies (I've been craving veggies for about a week now) and this cold fruit soup (hideg gyümölcsleves- pronounced "gusjslbdnja shkahbbu skdnsul" exactly as it is written). It was really good. It tasted a little like the cranberry soup mom makes, but it had cinnamon and peaches and pears. Yum.

I went back to my hostel and took another nap. There must be something about this heat that just makes me want to fall asleep all the time.

These little kids are always in the recepciò. I think they are on the handball team. Evidently handball is huge. The Hungarian women's handball team is one of the best
This is one of my favorite parts of békéscsaba. You can't really see it, but there's a tiny little stream and all these weeping willows. I will explore it soon.

Part of the agreement with the agency is that the club must feed me three times a day and pay for my transportation. Unfortunately, this means that I don't really get to choose where and when I eat. But I am glad that I do get to be fed.

I ate dinner tonight at 10:30. This is a picture of my speed burger. I couldn't quite catch it before it sped away.... It is basically the same as a speedy tortilla, but in burger form.still really good, but I'm afraid I won't be very speedy tomorrow during training....
