This morning we had futás (pronounced foo-tash), meaning running. Mishi, the head coach, had us do a warmup lap, we stretched, and then he let us run for twenty minutes. It was a nice little run because their were two girls at the front and then quite a few girls lagging almost a lap behind. So I didn't feel any pressure to go really fast.
There were times when I was running that I would start complaining in my head about the running, but then I would catch myself, look around, and realize that I am living my dream here in Hungary. The wonderful houses with the red roofs and beautiful sunrises. It would be silly to complain about a little jogging. I liked the run, especially with the great music zach and Hannah so lovingly put on my phone.
After the first twenty minutes, mishi told me he didn't want me to run the second twenty minute interval because he wanted me to be able to practice that night with my full body strength. Probably a good idea so I wouldn't have any excuses. Here's the training schedule. I always wondered how it was differently Americans and Europeans trained.
For lunch, we went to KER or something. The girls on the team get their lunch paid for there every day except on the weekends.

This soup was pretty good. Somewhat comparable to chicken noodle soup. I went to lunch with the two Serbian girls on the team; Yvonna and Lana. They are super nice and can speak enough English to talk for about two minutes with me. But they do not know any Hungarian. So when we went to order food, we really struggled because the waitress couldn't speak any English at all. Yvonna had to look up all the words on the menu through google translate to five is a really vague impression of what the meal was.
We ended up ordering the chicken and rice, a safe meal. The cabbage salad tasted a ton like something that mom or grandma would make. It reminded me of home. The chicken was pretty good.
Here's my croissant filled with strawberries and cream. Ádám seems to think that it is all I want to eat because he keeps buying them for me. I do like them, but not three in one day.
Today the team also had bemutatóedzés. This is where we went to the main square of the city and played volleyball with the citizens. It was basically like a city family night. In one area they had people playing chess. Then they had tennis nets set up and soccer goals set up and another place to play darts. I guess this is a pretty regular Monday activity.
